UConn guard Joey Calcaterra spent the first four seasons of his college career playing basketball in San Diego. It wasn't San Diego State, which stands in the Huskies' way of a national championship, but it was enough to earn Calcaterra a nickname that has followed him around Connecticut.  Calcaterra, perhaps known better as 'Joey California,' is averaging 5.8 points and 1.7 rebounds per game this season, but his impact has gone beyond what the raw numbers indicate. Calcaterra is shooting a sparkling 44 percent from 3-point range, enough to earn him consistent minutes off the bench during UConn's NCAA Tournament run.
