Honda Service Center in San Diego, California

I have to say their customer service/car check in system is not customer oriented. I made an appointment for a service appointment and call online - asked for a service call regarding information. No one called back - ever. Why offer the option if you are not going to honor it. I arrived ten minutes early on this hot day in July, parked in the driveway and waited as the multiple signs told you. Guess you know what happened! Yep, no one came, no one stopped even though the place was full of people walking back and forth. I went to the cashier who told me to leave the air conditioned service lobby and go back and wait beside my car. I finally cornered someone in coveralls and literally unloaded about the 20 minute wait in 85 degree heat on this poor man who promised to get someone. He disappeared into the special service representative air conditioned office...he didn't find anyone. He went to the express oil place but they couldn't access my service contract so I had to wait for a customer service representative. He totally pushed me into the service rep office where I stood until someone looked up from their desk to help. In Washington, people at our Honda Service Dept recognize you immediately when you walk in and they look at you and greet you. They apologize for any delay, get you settled and worry about the paperwork after the fact. Not here, not at this place. The nicest person was the shuttle driver who went out of his way to make sure there was nowhere we wanted to go! I would not come here again nor would I recommend this service center. I will drive the extra miles to be with a nicer more customer oriented service department.

Took my car in for service today thinking it was past-due by 1k miles according to the sticker I got from the last dealership I went to for an oil change. Everyone here was very friendly and helpful, but then came the amazing part - instead of just doing the oil change etc and charging me for it, like all the previous dealerships I've gone to have, they explained that I still had plenty of oil life left and actually didn't need service yet. Regardless, they still did a routine check on the vehicle, and even topped off my tire pressure, for no charge. No charge!! If that's not fantastic service - I don't know what is!
