Just a super honest and fair mechanic. But beyond all that he's really good. Had to completely rebuild my wranglers engine, without charging me or asking he completely cleaned and resealed the whole thing. And it was still much cheaper than other quotes. Other shops would have charged that much just to clean and resealed it. I've brought every car I had or was thinking about buying to him. It's amazing watching him question the sellers. He can sniff a lie from a mile away and he will tell you everything straight. He often tells me not to fix things or looks at a car and says it's fine and never thinks about charging me. I can't take advantage so when I get work I always tip because it'd be wrong to not. One time I was looking at a Volvo, Les the owner of Snappy Auto Service, asked the seller if anything in the engine has been replaced. He said no. Les said the transmission wasn't original. The seller backed off, said it was a new transmission. Les looked at him over his glasses. "This is from salvage yard." Seller just got quiet. After he finished the inspection I asked Les what was wrong with the transmission and he said nothing was wrong it just was from the junkyard, "looks fine". I gave him a raised eyebrow. He said "if he lies about transmission what else he lying about?" Words of wisdom from a good man and a great mechanic. He's pretty booked so in not writing this review for him, I'm writing it for you. It took me 30 years to find a mechanic I fully trust. Les is that man.
