Hilary is 'highly likely' to come within 100 miles of San Diego as a tropical storm this weekend and generate torrential rains that could cause dangerous flooding countywide and freakishly raise nighttime temperatures into the 80s, the National Service said late Thursday. 'We're looking at 2 inches of rain at the coast and 5 to 10 inches in the mountains, and maybe that amount in the desert,' said Brandt Maxwell, a weather service forecaster. Update: NWS warns that Hilary will pass within 100 miles of San Diego.
