Marting is a board member of the San Diego Young Republicans and a member of the Republican Party of San Diego County who works at a property insurance-focused nonprofit and lives in Bonsall. Sometimes, if you don't have a seat at the table, you must build your own table. This was true for me and my fellow young conservatives in San Diego County. We may be a minority within a minority, but our presence and perspectives are valuable and necessary for political discourse. We are constantly told that young people never speak up; however, I have found when a young voice is speaking up for conservative values, we are often dismissed.
